I had the absolute pleasure of designing Ellie and Rich’s wedding flowers at The Wellbeing Farm. The Wellbeing Farm is a quirky, fun and beautiful venue based in the heart of Lancashire – with Llama’s roaming around! Immediately I knew this was going to be fun.
We started the process with my mini workshop going through their wedding flower ideas, the look and feel they wanted to capture for their big day. The theme was Joy and Colour and what a joy it was to create. Very rarely do I get such free reign to go mad with colour. I created mood boards through Pinterest so we could both add ideas and either scale up or down each design.
Ellie wanted her bouquet to be filled with a variety of different colours, seasonal blooms and foliage. We went for bright anemones, vivid ranunculus and some beautiful garden roses. With one large hydrangea to bring it all together.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen were all wearing different coloured dresses/ties. Ellie and Rich wanted each bouquet and buttonhole to contrast equaling an explosion of colour. The giant craspedia worked brilliantly.
For the ceremony I created two large milk urn displays and jam jar arrangements for the pew ends. Pew ends are always a bit tricky to design, however the jam jars worked a treat and we then used them back at The Wellbeing Farm as the centerpieces. This can be a great way to bring down cost – which I know is very important!
The finished flowers were stunning and complimented the overall look and feel to the big day, there certainly was so much joy and fun to be had.
